Mt. Paran today thrives under the leadership of Rev. Susie Elliott, and Rev. Damele Elliott Collier.


Rev. Susie Elliott is Co-Pastor  along with her daughter, Rev. Damele Elliott Collier of the Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Brooklyn. Through her leadership, Mt. Paran has established innovative programs that minister to the spiritual and social needs of her parishioners and members of the surrounding community. She is guided by Phil. 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
She served as a mentor for the Kings Country District Attorney’s office, sharing her creative gift, teaching a sewing class that was quite successful, with Youth and Congregation in Partnership (YCP) and Girls Re-entry Assistance Support Project (GRASP).

Pastor Damele is the author of two novels, Fields of Gold and A Touch of Destiny. She co-authored the academic publication, Building A Bridge To Success in College Composition. She is currently working on her third novel, which will be her first work of science fiction.  She taught English in the NYC Public School System for five years and is currently teaching English Composition at Medgar Evers College and BMCC. Pastor Damele is the author of the powerful film, Hidden.  This film targets youth and educates them about the life changing topics of HIV and AIDS. Hidden won Second Place in the Kingdomwood Christian Film Festival in Lithonia, Georgia, in 2008.  Pastor Damele is currently writing the script for her second film that will focus on Youth and the incarceration system.

2013 marks the 25th Anniversary of Mt. Paran Bapist Church.  Located at 12 Shchaefer/1665 Boadway.  Sunday Worship begins at 12 noon.
